Located in two different regions, The Bahamas and the UAE both enjoy an excellent and beneficial relationship. For the first time in their diplomatic relations an Ambassador of the Bahamas to the UAE was named on November 23rd 2016.
These two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Mutual Exemption of Entry Visa Requirements for holders of Diplomatic, Special/ Official service and ordinary passports and give citizens the right to visit the other country for up to 90 days as a visitor.
A MOU was also signed on Political Consultations, which makes provisions for the two countries to consult and meet regularly to discuss bilateral issues of interest, as well as matters in the regional and international relations.
An Air Services Agreement (ASA) was signed between the two countries, that will enable schedule flights between the Bahamas and the UAE.
In a quest to depend less on fossil fuels, both countries partnered together to a build a 1MW Solar car park at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium Nassau, Bahamas. This intuitive was funded by the UAE Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.
